Africa Digital Discipleship Initiative
One continental vision. Eleven targeted initiatives reaching Muslims, refugees, women, youth, and unreached people groups — through digital tools, local leadership, and the power of the Gospel.
"However long the night, the dawn will break." — Malinke Proverb
The Sahara Belt is one of the most spiritually isolated regions on earth. Political instability, extreme poverty, and extremist influence create formidable barriers to the Gospel. Niger is 99.3% Muslim and Mali 93.9% Muslim, with dozens of Unreached People Groups having little to no knowledge of Christ. Youth constitute over 60% of the population yet lack education, opportunity, and any access to the message of hope.
Our solution reaches these communities digitally: SaharaWeb TV broadcasts in Hausa, Fulfulde and Bambara; solar-powered audio Bibles reach off-grid villages; AI chatbots on WhatsApp answer questions around the clock; young TikTok influencer teams create viral Gospel content; and Oasis Centres provide vocational training and community development — demonstrating the love of Christ and building bridges of trust where no physical missionary can go.

"A stick in a bundle cannot be broken." — Somali Proverb
The Horn of Africa hosts one of the largest displaced populations in the world — over 3.8 million refugees and 12.1 million IDPs across Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan alone. These individuals have lost everything: their homes, their livelihoods, and often their families. Traditional pastoral care is impossible at this scale, and the constant struggle for survival overshadows spiritual needs entirely.
Our trauma-informed digital ministry meets people at their deepest point of need. HopeLine SMS services deliver daily Scripture and aid information directly to phones. Solar-powered HopeHubs in camps provide phone charging and Gospel media. Encrypted WhatsApp care groups offer fellowship and crisis support. Multilingual audio testimonies and bite-sized discipleship courses reach even the most basic feature phones — because no one is too lost, too far, or too broken to be reached.

"A single bracelet does not jingle." — Congolese Proverb
The Congo River Basin is home to some of the world's youngest populations — the DRC has a median age of just 17. While rich in natural resources, these nations are plagued by instability, poverty, and gender-based violence. Young people face staggering unemployment; women bear the heaviest burdens of conflict with limited access to education or leadership platforms.
We build a comprehensive digital discipleship pipeline: youth-curated media hubs in Kinshasa, Kigali and Kampala produce hyper-local content integrating biblical truth; women's digital empowerment tracks combine discipleship with practical skills like graphic design and e-commerce; gamified discipleship apps make spiritual growth engaging for a generation that grew up online; and campus digital networks create safe, moderated communities for students across the entire region.

"A person is a person through other persons." — Ubuntu Philosophy
While Southern Africa has a significant Christian presence, this often masks specific, isolated Unreached People Groups with their own languages and worldviews where the Gospel has never taken root. Among the Yao and Lomwe peoples of Mozambique and Malawi, Islam blended with traditional animism remains dominant. In remote Zambia and Lesotho, communities maintain purely traditional beliefs with minimal Christian influence.
Our anthropological 'search and disciple' model uses ethno-linguistic research, contextualised storytelling that speaks directly to each group's cultural narratives, 'Echoes of Truth' audio dramas produced in UPG heart languages, solar-powered storytelling MP3 players distributed to villages, and bi-vocational digital missionaries who live inside the communities they serve — building relationships and providing discreet discipleship from within.

"The ruin of a nation begins in the homes of its people." — Ghanaian Proverb
West Africa is a vibrant tapestry of culture and faith — yet beneath the surface lie significant challenges. Christianity often coexists with deep-rooted traditional practices like juju and ancestral worship. Women — the backbone of the church and economy — face cultural barriers limiting their leadership roles and access to theological education. Youth unemployment is critically high, fuelling disillusionment and migration across the region.
Our holistic 'whole-life' discipleship model addresses spiritual, economic and social needs simultaneously. The 'She Leads' digital academy certifies women in biblical leadership. Influencer-for-Christ squads train young believers to create viral content on TikTok and Instagram. A digital business incubator connects aspiring entrepreneurs with mentors and funding. AI-powered career chatbots help youth discover and pursue their God-given calling — combining faith with practical transformation.

"A tree that grows in the shade will not bear fruit." — Cameroonian Proverb
The Equatorial region hosts significant Christian populations alongside deep spiritual apathy and syncretism. Youth across Cameroon, Gabon and the CAR are digitally active but spiritually adrift — viewing the church as irrelevant to their lives. Traditional church planting is too slow and resource-intensive for the scale of the opportunity, while a purely online approach lacks the relational depth needed for lasting transformation.
Our 'Hybrid Church Plant' model starts digitally and grows organically into physical communities. A large moderated Discord server serves as the central digital gathering place with channels for every country, topic and language. Trained Digital Pastors build community and provide pastoral care online. Low-pressure incarnation events — service projects, concerts, sports — bring online members face-to-face. Micro-church multiplication then grows from these real connections into neighbourhood house churches, rooted in the digital network but embodied in local community.

"Little by little, the bird builds its nest." — Malagasy Proverb
The Indian Ocean islands are a world apart — each a unique blend of African, Asian and European influences, separated by vast expanses of water. Madagascar has a Christian majority but deep-rooted ancestor worship and numerous smaller Unreached People Groups. The Comoros and Mayotte are over 99% Muslim with extremely limited Christian witness. Geographic isolation has become spiritual isolation — and traditional methods cannot bridge the ocean.
Our 'Hub and Spoke' model places digital production centres on well-connected islands in Mauritius, La Réunion and Antananarivo, creating content in Malagasy, Comorian, French and Creole. These hubs support remote operations through ruggedised solar-powered 'Digital Lifeboats' — portable servers that create local WiFi hotspots and are delivered by boat to coastal villages. Women's digital literacy programmes and cross-island prayer networks weave these isolated communities into one body.

"However long the night, the dawn will break." — African Proverb
Southern Africa boasts the continent's most advanced digital infrastructure — yet this has not translated into spiritual vitality. Urban youth are increasingly disconnected from traditional church structures, navigating identity, unemployment and social injustice in a digital space dominated by content that contradicts Christian values. There is a critical shortage of high-quality, authentically African Christian content that can genuinely compete for their attention.
Simba Studios — a state-of-the-art media production and innovation centre in South Africa — is the engine room for digital ministry across the region. Professional studios produce short films, music videos and animated series. An Innovation Lab tests AI, VR and blockchain for ministry application. An intensive residency programme graduates young creative leaders from across Southern Africa. An influencer talent agency connects Christian content creators with Kingdom-focused brand partnerships — turning creativity into continental mission.

"Patience is the key to relief." — Arabic Proverb
The Maghreb is a spiritual fortress with a population over 98% Muslim. Countries like Mauritania, Morocco and Algeria have severe social and legal restrictions against conversion from Islam — open Christian witness is often met with hostility, arrest, or worse. Youth are restless, facing high unemployment and disillusionment with rigid religion, yet have no safe avenue to explore spiritual alternatives.
Our 'Stealth and Depth' model prioritises security and deep relationship building over public visibility. A decentralised network of encrypted messaging missionaries conducts one-on-one conversations through Signal. A vast apologetics library addresses the specific intellectual and heart objections Muslims have about Christianity, presenting Jesus from within an Abrahamic framework that feels familiar. Questions-based evangelism invites seekers to explore their own spiritual questions — creating space for genuine discovery rather than confrontation.

"A river that forgets its source will soon run dry." — African Proverb
The African diaspora — numbering in the tens of millions across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia — is a vast and often overlooked mission field. These individuals face a unique set of challenges: the trauma of displacement, the stress of cultural integration, deep loneliness, and a crisis of identity. Many are unreached Muslims or nominal Christians from rural backgrounds now living in secularised cities, more open to the Gospel but also highly vulnerable.
Our 'Glocal' digital strategy creates a worldwide network that provides genuine belonging and Kingdom purpose. The DiasporaGlobal App serves as a one-stop platform for native-language Bible studies, podcasts on integration, and a directory of diaspora-friendly churches. Cultural-linguistic WhatsApp hubs connect thousands by country of origin. A diaspora-to-homeland mission pipeline trains believers to become digital missionaries to their own families back home — turning those who were reached into those who reach others.

"The desert may be dry, but the well is deep." — Tuareg Proverb
The Sahara region encompasses the most spiritually arid and challenging mission fields on earth. Nations like Algeria, Libya and Mauritania are officially closed to traditional missionary work, with conversion carrying severe legal and social consequences. In northern Mali, Niger and Sudan, political instability and extremist groups make physical presence dangerous. These countries have Muslim populations exceeding 95%, with many people groups classified as Unreached with minimal Gospel access of any kind.
Our 'Digital Flood' strategy creates a continuous, inescapable presence of the Gospel: SaharaSat broadcasts 24/7 Christian programming via satellite into millions of homes; AI-powered dialect translation rapidly produces content in Berber and Tuareg languages; solar-powered Digital Oasis offline servers serve nomadic communities with no internet; mass SD card distribution moves through existing trade routes; and underground 'House Church in a Box' kits equip secret believers to gather for worship in safety — because the harvest is plentiful even in the driest places.
