01About This Project

Igniting a whole-life movement for West Africa's women & youth

The Waist Beads Revival is a holistic, "whole-life" discipleship movement that addresses the spiritual, economic, and social needs of women and youth simultaneously. Named after the waist beads that symbolise identity and dignity in West African culture, this project reclaims that symbolism for the Kingdom — clothing women in strength, purpose, and the fear of God.

We build a digital ecosystem where women can flourish: the "She Leads" Digital Academy for certified leadership training, Digital Sisterhoods for peer mentorship, the "Waist Beads" Podcast for public voice, and a Digital Business Incubator turning faith into enterprise.

West African women and youth — the challenge context
02The Challenge

Faith that coexists with fear — a generation without a compelling vision

West Africa is a vibrant tapestry of culture and faith, but beneath the surface lies significant challenges for women and youth. While Christianity is strong in many areas, it often coexists with deep-rooted traditional practices — juju (witchcraft) and ancestral worship — leading to widespread syncretism. Women visit juju priests for protection, not recognising that they have access to the one true God.

Women, though the backbone of the church and economy, face cultural barriers limiting their leadership roles and access to theological education. Youth unemployment is critically high, driving disillusionment and migration. The digital space, while booming, is filled with content promoting materialism, occult practices, and distorted views of identity and relationships.

The challenge is to capture the attention of this dynamic demographic with a Gospel that is not only spiritually liberating but also empowers them to overcome systemic poverty and inequality — giving them a compelling vision for their future, rooted in Christ.

03Our Approach

A "whole-life" discipleship ecosystem
where women & youth truly flourish

We address spiritual, economic, and social needs simultaneously — building a digital ecosystem that liberates, equips, and launches women and youth into their God-given purpose.

Digital Sisterhoods & Brotherhoods

Creating safe, private online communities via WhatsApp groups and dedicated app forums — spaces of peer-to-peer mentorship, prayer, and business idea sharing where women and youth experience genuine discipleship-in-community.

Faith & Work Integration

Developing digital content and courses teaching biblical principles of entrepreneurship, finance, and ethics — empowering participants to create Christ-centred small businesses and become economic agents of change in their communities.

"She Leads" Digital Academy

A certified online leadership programme for women, covering biblical exegesis, public speaking, and digital marketing — creating a pipeline of female leaders equipped to transform their churches, families, and communities from the inside out.

Youth Innovation Hubs

Establishing physical hub spaces in urban centres equipped with computers and internet access — where youth can access our digital programmes, receive mentorship, collaborate on faith-driven innovation projects, and build a community of purpose.

West African women — vibrant, dignified, empowered
Our Conviction
"When you empower a woman with the Gospel, you do not just change her life — you change every life she touches."

10

Blockchain for Women's Cooperatives

Using blockchain technology to create transparent and secure records for women's savings and loan cooperatives — fostering financial independence, accountability, and trust in communities where formal banking is inaccessible.

A bead seller set free from fear. A coder set free from compromise. These are the stories of the West African revival the world is not yet watching — but God already is.

Afi's
Story

Makola Market · Accra, Ghana

"She saw herself in the woman with the issue of blood — a woman who had spent everything and found nothing, until she reached for Jesus. That night, Afi stopped visiting the juju priest forever."

Afi sold beads in Accra's Makola Market, her life a cycle of struggle. She secretly visited a juju priest for protection, fearing her competitors' spells. A customer — a vibrant young woman — invited her to a WhatsApp group for market women. Sceptical but lonely, Afi joined. The group shared daily prayers and practical business tips. One day, a voice note from the group leader told the story of the woman with the issue of blood — a woman who had spent everything on doctors but was healed by simply touching Jesus' cloak.

Afi saw herself. That night, she prayed to Jesus — not as a last resort, but as her first hope. She stopped visiting the juju priest. She began applying the business skills from the Digital Sisterhood, pooling savings with other members. Her business grew. But more importantly, her fear vanished, replaced by a fierce faith. Afi is now a leader in the digital sisterhood, a living testimony that Jesus is the true source of provision and protection — and her waist bead stand has become an unlikely pulpit.

Kwame's
Journey

Abidjan · Côte d'Ivoire

"He realised God was not just the architect of the universe — He was the architect of ethical systems, of good work, of technology in service of others. Kwame gave his life to Christ and his code to the Kingdom."

Kwame was a brilliant coder in Abidjan, but his talent was being recruited by a fraudulent online scheme. He felt empty, knowing his work was harming others. He stumbled upon a Twitter thread by a "Tech Pastor" from Ghana, discussing ethical technology and God's purpose for innovation. Intrigued, Kwame joined the pastor's online community for Christian tech professionals.

There he found a new vision: to use his skills for good. He connected with a mentor who guided him through a biblical understanding of work. Kwame left the fraudulent job and, with support from the Digital Business Incubator, developed a simple app helping local farmers track prices. He gave his life to Christ, seeing God as the ultimate systems architect. His app is now gaining traction — and Kwame leads a weekly online Bible study for young tech professionals, teaching them that their keyboards can be instruments of worship.
