Missional Vision

Mobilising Kenya's Digital Generation for Christ

Kenya, as a digital leader in East Africa, presents a unique strategic opportunity. While the nation has a Christian majority, a significant portion of its youth are “digital natives” disconnected from traditional church structures. A local Christian influencer said: “The youth are on TikTok, not in the pews. We have to go where they are.”

The project targets Muslim-majority counties in the coast and northeast with Somali and Ajami translations, equips 700 students as content creators from a Nairobi content studio, and partners with UNHCR for women’s and refugee outreach.

Priority target groups:

  • Youth & university students (digital natives)
  • Muslim-majority counties (coast & northeast)
  • Women in underserved digital spaces
  • Refugee communities

"I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some of them." — 1 Corinthians 9:22 NIV

Faith Wanjiru
20 · University Student, Nairobi · Digital Missionary
Faith grew up in a church-going family in Nairobi but by university had drifted into a cultural faith. A TikTok short — a spoken word piece about a young Kenyan woman searching for identity — landed in her feed and stopped her scrolling. She watched it four times. She joined the ADD discipleship WhatsApp group that same week and over three months rediscovered a personal, living faith. She now produces gospel content at the Nairobi content studio and mentors two younger students.
“The youth are on TikTok, not in the pews. I was proof of that. The content met me exactly where I was.” Faith is one of 200 student digital missionaries trained in Year 1.
