From June 24th to 29th, 2024, the Campus Crusade for Christ, Africa Region in Digital Strategies, organized the Women in Digital Africa Summit (WinD Africa) in Cotonou, Benin. During this inspiring event, 99 participants from
22 countries gathered to share their strengths and explore how they can leverage digital strategies to further their mission.

How was the Summit?

The WinD Summit was marked by the joy of meeting one another, as women were equipped through various sessions on why and how to use digital tools and principles for mission work, and participated in workshops that led to the development of the WinD Resolutions. Digital clinics enhanced digital maturity, and the cultural night brought all participants closer together. Everyone was actively involved in the summit and returned with a plan to launch WinD in their respective countries..

Win, Build, Send

Mrs Mimi Mavanga from DR Congo shared about the WinD starting experiences of the DR Congo. She talked about how they did mobilization and invitations to start. During her sessions in the summit, she also shared about building an effective digital women’s ministry by winning, building, and sending.

The participants got the chance to explore the beauty of Cotonou. The Africa Director for Digital Strategies together with the summit committee organized a special buffet out of the hotel where the participants ate and danced freely and joyfully. Besides, There was an outing afternoon where some of the participants went to the market for shopping and others went to visit tourist sites like OUIDAH, the door of no return and GANVIE, the village on wanter.

Exploring the City of Cotonou

Before the closing of the summit, there was a cultural evening where the participants from all the represented countries showed up in the conference hall with their traditional clothing, songs, and dances. The hall was full of joyful noise and applauses. It was beautiful to see the flags from different countries waving in one room.

WinD Resolution

We the Women gathered at the Africa Women Digital Champions (WinD Africa) Summit at the Sun Beach Hotel in Cotonou – Benin, from 24 to 29 June 2024, having identified our strengths and characterized our unique spaces, recognize the exceptional roles we have to play in our spaces. And having discussed these spaces and the opportunities still unexplored with the understanding that WinD knows no boundaries hereby resolve as follows:
