Gabon is a Central African country located along the Atlantic coast, known for its rich biodiversity and vast rainforests. Its capital and largest city is Libreville. Gabon has a relatively small population but is one of the more urbanized countries in the region. The economy is largely driven by oil production, along with timber and mining. Much of the country’s land is covered by national parks, making it a key destination for wildlife and eco-tourism, with animals such as elephants, gorillas, and forest buffalo. Despite its natural wealth, Gabon faces challenges related to economic diversification and income inequality.

Igniting the Forest with Digital Light

Gabon’s strong digital infrastructure and 93% mobile penetration make it one of Africa’s most connected nations — yet this very connectivity masks a deep spiritual gap. A large proportion of Gabon’s population are “cultural Christians” who identify with the faith but have never experienced active, personal discipleship. Traditional ministry often fails this digitally-savvy, urban, and skeptical generation.

The ADD strategy meets young Gabonese where they live — on social media, podcasts, and streaming platforms — building digital communities that provide genuine encounters with the Gospel on their own terms. As Paul wrote: “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some of them” (1 Corinthians 9:22).

A digital dashboard tracks gospel exposures, decisions for Christ, and follow-up engagement across all 15 channels in real time. Gabon's high connectivity makes digital analytics particularly robust. Quarterly reviews drive continuous improvement, and ten short plus two documentary-style testimony videos are produced annually. The national CCC office provides oversight and alignment with national strategy.

Léa grew up in a church-going family but describes her faith as "inherited, not chosen." At university she drifted away entirely — not hostile to Christianity, simply indifferent. Working in digital marketing, she encountered a targeted Instagram ad featuring a Fang-language short film about purpose and identity.
