Njamena: A Digital Lamp in the Heart of the 10/40 Window· July 2024 – June 2029

Know Chad

Chad is a landlocked country in north-central Africa, known for its diverse landscapes that range from the Sahara Desert in the north to fertile savannas in the south. Its capital is N’Djamena. The country has a mix of cultures and ethnic groups, with French and Arabic as official languages. Much of the population relies on agriculture and livestock, while oil production also contributes to the economy. Despite its rich cultural heritage, Chad faces challenges such as poverty, climate change, and limited infrastructure.

A Breakthrough in the 10/40 Window

Chad is a critical bridge nation in the 10/40 window — one of the world's most strategic and least-reached regions. With a Muslim majority, numerous unreached language groups, and communities where cultural resistance to the Gospel runs deep, traditional evangelism faces immense barriers. A local leader captured the challenge plainly: “The front door to their communities is often locked. Their phones, however, are an open window.”

The ADD strategy enters through that window — delivering culturally and linguistically relevant content via discreet digital channels that can be shared safely within Islamic communities. A breakthrough in Chad carries the potential to ripple across the entire Sahara Belt.

Priority target groups:

  • Muslim majority regions in the North and East
  • Women in Islamic and rural communities
  • Unreached language groups (Maba, Tama)

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." — John 1:5 NIV

MONTORING & EVALUATION
Data-Driven Accountability

A secure digital dashboard tracks gospel exposures, decisions for Christ, and follow-up engagement across all 15 channels. Given the security-sensitive context, all data collection uses encrypted protocols. Quarterly reviews drive continuous improvement, and ten short plus two documentary-style testimony videos are produced annually. National CCC office oversight ensures alignment with broader strategy.

Fatimah Al-Rashid
21 · University Student, N'Djamena · Digital Discovery Group Member
Fatimah grew up in a devout Muslim home in N'Djamena where questions about other faiths were unwelcome. On her phone — her private world — she received an Arabic WhatsApp message that included a short video about Isa (Jesus) presented through a lens of respect for Islamic sensibilities. "I watched it alone three times," she says. "It didn't feel like an attack." She replied with a question. A digital missionary began corresponding with her over encrypted messages, answering her questions for months before she completed an audio Discovery Bible Study series. In month seven, she made a quiet but firm decision to follow Christ.
"On my phone, I could ask what I could never ask out loud. And someone answered — every single time." Fatimah now participates in a closed discipleship group with four other young women navigating faith transitions.
