Reaching Burkina Faso's Unreached

Burkina Faso is a strategic frontier in the Sahel — 63% Muslim, beset by insecurity that has made physical mission dangerous or impossible, and home to isolated language communities across the North and East. Youth are uniquely vulnerable to extremism, and women in rural and Islamic areas remain almost entirely beyond the reach of traditional outreach.

The ADD strategy deploys digital evangelism as a low-risk, high-impact alternative — distributing 90 media pieces in Fulfulde, Moore, and French via mobile networks, SD cards, and Bluetooth, and training 300 youth digital missionaries. A local leader said: "We can no longer send missionaries into the north, but a phone can enter any village and any home."

Priority target groups:

  • Muslim-majority unreached regions (North & East)
  • Youth vulnerable to extremism
  • Women in rural and Islamic areas
  • Isolated language groups

"I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys." — Isaiah 41:18 NIV

Aminata Ouedraogo
22 · University Student, Ouagadougou · Digital Missionary
Aminata grew up in a Muslim household in Ouagadougou, where Christianity was rarely discussed. A WhatsApp message from a friend — a short Moore audio drama about a woman who found peace despite loss — stopped her scrolling. She listened three times in one sitting. Over six weeks, an encrypted WhatsApp group with a female digital mentor became a place of questions, tears, and discovery. Aminata came to faith quietly and has since shared audio stories with four women in her neighbourhood using Bluetooth at night.
“They told me there was no Jesus in our language. Then I heard him in Moore. That is when I knew it was for me too.” Aminata is now training to become a digital missionary in Ouagadougou.
