Missional Vision

Reaching Botswana's Unreached

Botswana has a high Christian population but faces a significant challenge with youth and a growing number of people identifying with no religion. Traditional ministry fails to engage a digitally-savvy urban population often sceptical of formal religious institutions.

By using social media, podcasts, and online events, this project meets young people where they are — building digital community that can lead to lasting relationship with Christ.

Priority target groups:

  • Digitally-savvy urban youth in cities like Gaborone and Francistown

  • The growing demographic of young people identifying with no religion

  • Individuals highly sceptical of formal religious institutions

Data-Driven Accountability

A digital dashboard tracks key metrics in real time — gospel exposures, decisions for Christ, and follow-up rates. Quarterly reviews drive continuous improvement. Ten short plus two documentary testimony videos are produced annually. The national CCC office ensures alignment with national strategy. Urban and rural engagement data are tracked separately to ensure Botswana's small but geographically spread population is served equitably.

Kefilwe Moeti
26 · Gaborone · Young Professional & Digital Missionary
Kefilwe grew up in a church-going family but stopped attending at university. 'I didn't leave God,' she says. 'I just couldn't find Him in the building anymore.' She came across an Instagram reel — produced by a local youth missionary — that asked a question she had been carrying for years: 'What if the God who created you actually wants to be known by you?' She clicked the link in the bio, found a WhatsApp discipleship group, and joined expecting skepticism. 'But they had the same questions I did,' she recalls. 'We read Scripture together and it was honest. Nobody performed.' She gave her life to Christ three months later. Today she is a trained digital missionary producing Setswana-language content for Botswana's youth.
"My faith had a funeral at eighteen. At twenty-six, it came back to life through a phone." Kefilwe's Instagram reels now reach over 8,000 young Batswana monthly.
